Penn Treaty SSD Annual Meeting To Be Held
Wednesday, December 18, 2019
The Annual Meeting will be held on December 18th at 6pm at Rivers (formerly SugarHouse) Casino in Hugo’s private dining room, concurrent with the December Board meeting.
The Board will elect members for three open seats, elect officers for 2020, and adopt the 2020 budget along with scheduled Grant and Sponsorship Requests.
The Election, 2020 Budget and Grant Presentations are open to the public.
2019 Call for Board Candidates Has Closed.
The Penn Treaty Special Services District is accepting applications for three (3) positions on its Board of Directors:
- One position is open to residents of Northern Liberties.
- One position is open to residents of Fishtown.
- One position is open to residents of Northern Liberties or Fishtown.
Board members serve 2-year terms and are expected to attend monthly meetings with the exception of July and August.
Board members are responsible for the disbursement of funds allocated in the Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) with Rivers Philadelphia (formerly Sugarhouse) Casino. Prior board experience is not required although a working knowledge of community initiatives is desirable.
All Interested Are Encouraged To Respond
Candidates must be 18 years of age and have at least five years of residency in their neighborhood. However, the Board may waive the 5-year residency requirement if necessary to fill a vacancy, provided the candidate is a Resident. Map available at penntreatyssd.org

All three new-term Board Members and Directors will be elected at the PTSSD Annual Meeting on December 18th and take office when the Board meets in January 2020.
Incumbents Who Are Running For A Second Term
Our Bylaws state that Board Members can be elected to more than one term. The following Board Members are seeking to be re-elected to the Board:
Jill Betters – Fishtown
Steve Richman – Northern Liberties
Board Member Dolores Griffith (Fishtown), who has served on the Board since its inception in 2009 is not seeking re-election. We are all indebted to her dedication, perseverance, and wisdom over those years.
The Election Committee will interview each candidate at an appointed time on Wednesday, Nov 13 and Thursday, Nov 14 between 6:00pm and 8:00pm at the Northern Liberties Community Center at 700 N. 3rd Street 19123
